Manushi Chhillar is an Indian model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss World 2017 beauty pageant. She was crowned by Miss World 2016 winner, Puerto Rico’s Stephanie Del Valle. Manushi was previously crowned Femina Miss India 2017 on 25 June 2017. Born in Haryana, India, on May 14, 1997, to doctor parents Neelam and Mitra Basu Chhillar, Manushi studied in St. Thomas School in New Delhi and Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College for Women in Sonepat. She has a brother and a sister.

Both of her parents worked in medicine. Her mom, Dr. Neelam Chhillar, was the department head of neurochemistry at the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences while her father Dr. Mitra Basu Chhillar worked as a scientist for he Defence Research and Development Organisation.

She was the sixth woman to win the title of Miss World, and the first since Priyanka Chopra in 2000.
