As a writer, she wrote for the first three seasons of the sitcom Fresh Off the Boat. Born Alexandra Dawn Wong on April 19, 1982 in San Francisco, California, USA, to parents Tam and Adolphus Wong, Ali is the youngest of four children. After graduating from San Francisco University High School in 2000, she attended and graduated summa cum laude from UCLA, where she majored in Asian American studies. She has been married to Justin Hakuta since November 27, 2014. Together they have two daughters.
